Victorian Days Walking Tours: Pacifica
Complementing its Victorian Days at the Old Courthouse, the San Mateo County History Museum is offering FREE walking tours throughout the Peninsula this summer. From Daly City to Pigeon Point, visit cemeteries, museums, stables, downtown sites, interesting residential areas, a historic railroad depot, a dueling site, a jail, a slot machine collection and a lighthouse. Please note that many of the walking tours require reservations.?

Victorian Days is also a FREE event at the History Museum and features family activities that inform youngsters about life in the nineteenth century. It takes place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 18.? ?

Pacifica, a visitor-serving destination on the Peninsula since Portolá visited in 1769 which led to the European discovery of San Francisco Bay. See an original house built by the Ocean Shore Railroad as an example of summer resorts intended to expand recreation and business on the San Mateo County Coast. View an original building that provided respite for working girls from San Francisco. Hear the history of Sam’s Castle constructed as a haven after the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906. End the tour with a view that was enjoyed by the original inhabitants of Pacifica, the Ramaytush Ohlone tribe.? RSVP: Not required.? Difficulty Level: Easy. Flat elevation, mainly sidewalks.?
