Business Essentials: Mediating Your Business Disputes
Guest Speaker: Jeffrey R. Windsor, Esq.
Mr. Windsor is a civil litigation attorney and mediator throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaii. He specializes in business, commercial, and real estate litigation, and counsels entrepreneurs, small businesses, and middle market companies.
Mr. Windsor trained as a mediator at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law. He is an alternative dispute resolution panelist, facilitator, and pro tem with the State Bar of California, Dispute Prevention and Resolution of Hawaii, and with Northern California’s superior courts and Bar Associations. Mr. Windsor is also an adjunct professor at the Santa Clara University School of Law.
Mr. Windsor will discuss issues related to commercial contract and lease disputes arising out of the stay-in-place orders and moratoriums as a result of COVID-19. These topics include commercial frustration of purpose, force majeure, and different forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including arbitration and online dispute resolution (ODR). Mr. Windsor will also discuss things to consider for your commercial agreements, including how to address potential business disputes, even when you are not facing a global pandemic.
