Jeffrey R. Windsor is a civil litigation attorney and mediator that practices throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaii. He specializes in business, commercial, and real estate litigation, and counsels entrepreneurs, small businesses, and middle market companies. He has nearly 20 years of experience representing his clients in contract, construction defect, professional negligence, bad faith, and personal injury actions. He has defended large corporations, governmental entities, small businesses, architects, contractors, brokers, and individuals in these same types of cases, and in non-disclosure, fraud, and discrimination actions. He has litigated, managed, tried, arbitrated and settled cases ranging from multi-party, complex actions to disputes before a case has been filed. Mr. Windsor is also an ADR panelist, facilitator, and pro tem with the State Bar of California, Dispute Prevention and Resolution of Hawaii, and with Northern California’s superior courts and Bar Associations. Mr. Windsor also taught as an adjunct professor at the Santa Clara University School of Law, his alma mater.
Mr. Windsor will discuss issues related to business interruption insurance and lease disputes arising out of the shelter-in-place orders and moratoriums on evictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. He will also discuss recent legislation and orders at the federal, state, and county levels intended to address these issues. Mr. Windsor will also discuss things to consider and include in your commercial insurance policies, agreements and leases to potentially prepare for and avoid future crises and conflicts.
