About Us
Beacon Auto Care is a family-run auto repair shop at 2300 S El Camino Real in San Mateo, CA, open since July 2020. Three people run it: Moe at the front counter, Favio (lead mechanic) and Hisham in the bay.
Every car gets a digital vehicle inspection: pad thickness, fluid condition, tire tread, and belt condition photographed and texted to your phone with an itemized line-by-line estimate before any work starts. Tap the items you want done, decline the rest — the bill matches the quote.
Services: brake repair (pads, rotors, fluid flushes), full-synthetic and European oil changes, auto AC repair (recharge, leak detection, compressors), check-engine-light and noise diagnostics, 30k/60k/90k scheduled maintenance, timing belts, transmission fluid service, cooling system and engine repair, suspension, tires, batteries, and electrical. European makes — BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo — plus Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, hybrids, and fleet maintenance. Pre-purchase, pre-trip, and smog pre-inspections available. We don't do wheel alignment (no rack) — we'll point you to a nearby shop that does.
Parts are OEM-equivalent by default (Bosch, Brembo, Mann, Mahle); genuine OEM on request. Every job carries a 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty on parts and labor. Open Mon–Sat 8 AM–5 PM; after-hours drop-off available. (650) 638-1791.
